Job Description

As a Production Superintendent in Automotive Wire Harness Manufacturing, you will be responsible for overseeing the production processes and ensuring the efficient operation of the manufacturing floor. You will lead a team of technicians and coordinate with various departments to meet production targets while maintaining quality standards and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

 

Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership:

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of technicians to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to technicians to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Foster a positive work environment conducive to collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

 

Production Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and production targets.
  • Coordinate with planning and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.
  • Monitor production processes to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to optimize efficiency.

 

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify defects or non-conformities and implement corrective measures.
  • Work closely with quality control teams to address any quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Safety and Compliance:

  • Enforce safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Conduct safety training sessions and promote awareness of safety practices among the team.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to manufacturing operations.

 

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices to streamline operations and reduce waste.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement projects.

 

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Maintain effective communication channels with all stakeholders, including production teams, management, and support functions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and other departments to resolve technical issues and implement product enhancements.
  • Provide regular updates on production performance, issues, and initiatives to management.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory role in automotive manufacturing or a similar industry.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and engage teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
  • Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
