Summary of the Position

Ampd Energy is seeking a motivated and versatile Electrical Engineer to support the development of a new and exciting, high-power energy storage system product in the company’s portfolio.

You job will be all-encompassing, and you will be involved in all stages of product development including defining product specifications, designing and testing components and subsystems, writing manufacturing work instructions, field engineering work and supplier sourcing and qualification. You will be reporting to the company’s Electrical Engineering Manager and you will be working closely with the company’s external vendors.

You should be reliable, thorough, and excited about developing new products with the potential to affect global power systems businesses. You will be expected to be able to operate with a degree of autonomy, and be a clear, candid, and effective communicator in spoken and written English and Mandarin.

Key Qualifications

●      Degree in Electronics and/or Electrical Engineering or higher. Power electronics or Power systems specialization preferred.

●      At least 3-4 years of relevant experience.

●      High level of practical electrical skills.

●      Experience with inverters, transformers, panels, and other power distribution equipment a plus.

●      Familiar with evidence-based testing methodology and the use of standard electronic lab equipment (programmable power supplies, programmable loads (DC and AC), power analysers, oscilloscopes, DMMs etc.).

●      Proficiency in Altium PCB layout.

●      Working proficiency in English, Mandarin 

Responsibilities

●      Work with electrical and mechanical engineers to assemble and troubleshoot prototypes for new/upgraded versions of the company’s containerized energy storage system.

●      Develop a detailed testing plan in order to evaluate the electrical performance of the whole system or of components or subsystems; execute and record results for the testing plan which you had developed.

●      Draft manufacturing instructions, operating instructions, installation instructions and user's guide or manual for the company’s products.

●      Field engineering related tasks.
